Maritime archaeology explores the changing relationship people have had with the world’s oceans and seas through the technologies of seafaring, histories of environmental change, the record from submerged landscapes and coastal sites. This dynamic subject incorporates elements of traditional archaeology, ethnography, maritime history and marine science.
