The Master’s program at the University of Cádiz comprises four modules: a Common Module (30 ECTS credits), a Specific Module (10 ECTS credits), an External Internship Module (8 ECTS credits), and a Master’s Thesis Module (12 ECTS credits). It offers three itineraries: Documentary Sources, Ancient Underwater Archaeology, and Medieval/Modern Underwater Archaeology, each with ten available spots. A key aspect of the program is practical training in real underwater archaeological sites. Itinerary 2 focuses on underwater interventions in ancient sites, while Itinerary 3 deals with medieval and modern underwater archaeology. These modules involve hands-on experience aboard the UCADIZ oceanographic vessel after theoretical training in excavation planning and administrative procedures. Due to logistical constraints, these sea modules have limited spots and require prior diving certification. The program culminates in the submission of an original research thesis demonstrating theoretical and practical knowledge application.
